As a Personal Trainer, Michael supports HARP clients in recovery by fostering a positive relationship with exercise and holistic wellness, and this starts by developing a simple, daily routine.
Leading by example, Michael is a retired Muay Thai fighter, with an undefeated professional record after 8 fights. Living the life of a professional athlete overseas is demanding in all aspects of life, and Michael brings this lived experience to the HARP Health & Wellness team in supporting clients from all backgrounds and fitness levels.
Michael has published 9 books to date. His most well-known book was his narrative non-fiction story, Muay Thai: Peace, at Last – a true story about Michael’s time spent travelling, training and competing in the combat sport of Muay Thai in Thailand. In further travels abroad, Michael highlights the month that he spent trekking the Nepalese Himalayas, during which he encountered life and death situations, and developed a deeper understanding for the hardships faced by people around the world.
Returning from life overseas, Michael has been a prominent member of Melbourne’s fitness and leisure industry for over a decade, helping thousands of clients and gym members achieve positive health & wellness outcomes. Michael’s “Five Keys to a Healthy Life” are as simple as they are profound – Water Consumption, Quality Sleep, Go Outside (Vitamin D), Move Your Body, and J.E.R.F (Just Eat Real Food).
Michael is a husband and a father, and believes that family values are fundamental to life and purpose.
"Being in recovery can be a daily struggle – a fight for your life, in many cases. It takes courage, commitment, discipline, and a strong support network, and there are many victories and defeats along the way. Facing an opponent as powerful as addiction may seem scary and overwhelming, but once the lights go down and the fight gets underway, there is only the next move – the fear is gone! If something is worth fighting for, then get in there and fight for it."
