Glen enjoys a wealth of life experience, both personal and professional. He has travelled abroad, touring America, Canada and the Philippines. He has spent several months living in the Philippines, embracing their food, culture, and their way of life. Glen credits this time spent learning about a foreign culture and their traditions as having been an eye-opening experience, and one which has given him a unique appreciation for life.
Closer to home, Glen is married with two beautiful children, and he has served the community in a range of roles, including factory, warehouse and distribution centres, food transport and logistics, the construction industry, waste management, heavy equipment operation, and running his own businesses. Glen’s professional experience has equipped him with a diverse range of skillsets and perspectives.
Glen’s true passion is in supporting others in addiction recovery. In his role as an Alcohol and Other Drugs Support Worker, Glen assists HARP clients in their day-to-day recovery, offering his own experience with addiction as a source of inspiration for others going through their most challenging times. As an important aspect of his own story of recovery, Glen has developed a passion for meditation, breathing exercises, and cold therapy. He employs these techniques as an important part of his daily routine, and he cites the Wim Hof Method as a key tool to assist in improving one’s mental health and wellbeing.
In following his passion for recovery, Glen aspires to undertake further study in the respective areas of Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Health. He has seen first-hand how the two are often intrinsically linked, and how two stories of addiction are never the same.
